Enjoy this nutrient-dense smoothie whenever you feel run down. It is full of naturally occurring vitamin C (studies have shown that our bodies don’t often recognize synthetic forms of vitamin C and they go ignored). It also contains a dose of healthy fats to balance the sugar found in the oranges and dates. Coconut water is a source of naturally occurring electrolytes. The blend ensures that all nutrients are absorbed and used by your cells.
When you’re feeling like you might be coming down with something, it is especially important to avoid refined sugar. Sugar and vitamin C have a very similar chemical makeup. In theory, elevated blood sugar levels compete and effectively restrict vitamin C from entering cells. This can hamper your immunity, as cells rely on vitamin C heavily during a viral attack.
A perfect smoothie to boost your immune system when a cold is going around. It will energize your day!
