Green Kale Lemonade


A green kale-based smoothie that is so easy to drink.  Sweet, tart and ultimately refreshing.  It is a brightening wake-up to any morning.


A handful of baby kale, half of a cucumber, lemon juice and a sweet crisp variety of apple come together easily into a simple, healthy drink.

Add more lemon juice for a stronger tart taste.  Add more water if you want it milder.  I think it’s important for a green drink to be easy and tasty in order for you to want to have it every day.  I made this batch as my husband was making coffee  this morning and I was drinking it down green goodness long before he had his first cup ready!

(He declined having green smoothie first.  I asked).


Green Kale Lemonade

1 generous handful of baby kale

1/2 of a sweet apple, such as Fuji, not peeled

1/2 of a small lemon, juiced

1/2 of a cucumber, peeled.

1/2 – 1 c. of water, as desired


Blend all ingredients and enjoy right away.
